On the occasion of Swiss artists, Dave Phillips and Daniel Maszkowicz will visit Vietnam supported by Swiss Arts Council Pro Helvetia. MoT+++ is excited to host the 23rd MoTsound, with the participation of local artist, Hoàng Vũ, and Mei Zhiyong (Chinese).
The 23rd Motsound aims at the intersection of nature and technology. Inviting you to focus on the most subtle vibrations of sound, organic and non-organic, to exploring the behavior and potential within the machine, the interactions between humans and machines through electrical signals and electromagnetic fields. Thereby, awakening the sensitivity, intuition, and potential within our consciousness.
In addition, scientist-artist, Daniel Maszkowicz brings us a workshop, about ‘Data Sonification’ aims to give the first tools to write, create and develop simple sound synthesizers within SuperCollider coding environment that is free and open-source. It is a rare opportunity for Vietnamese artists, musicians, and sound – engineers who love technology to approach and discover a new method, a new language to be creative in their practice.

‘when termites are threatened or disturbed, they communicate by banging their heads against the walls of their tunnels. this creates a dry rattling that human ears can hear. termites, however, cannot hear audible noise, they react to the vibration they feel..’
MoT is an experimental sound project delivering artists and audiences from their daily auditory experiences. each session will feature a series of performances from local and international sound artists. pieces will vary greatly, but together they hope to offer and encourage conceptual sonic expression unfettered by genre-based preconditions. MoT gives producers an exceptional freedom to explore the textural and performative aspects of their work, both of which are unfortunately static in most live sound/music shows. MoT merges sound and art to consider the possibilities of experimentation and performance. different blends of chance elements, improvisation, and composition, coupled with diverse instruments of production, will investigate our relation to the audible world, and how that relationship might change when experienced collectively. MoT is organized by MoT+++, a non-profit independent project space for contemporary art. entrance fee could be free or not depending on the venue we can afford to get each time. if you are an artist, of any kind, that would like to be involved in the project please email us at info@motplus.xyz or via Facebook. we are looking for all types of performance that relate in some way to sound.
