Ep1. Wet Meadow is the first part of the MANGROVES album by Hoàng Vũ, which includes 4 tracks. It came from not having a physical space to do painting while the desire to create a more immense, comprehensive, and abstract space increased. At the end of 2022, Vu threw himself into the sonic field.



Sprawling to the south, across vast deltas, comes the creeping water, the white storks, spreading out into thousands of bayou branches. The horizon will be endless….



The damp air setiles on the blades of grass,

The smell of soil and silt lingers,

The petrichor,

The tiny creatures under the melaleucas,

The oscillations of wings,

The red snail’s eggs shimmering


..But there, you’ve only just soaked your feet, and gotten used to the wetness. The journey is still long, before the mangrove calling you to venture deeper, before rhizophora tie you tightly and the swamp wants to swallow you, the tide rises brackish, the mud swells, shining black, bulging eyes, before it tells you about the story of the princess piss and the thirsty mudskipper. And so on, you keep immersing yourself in it, until you wonder:
When will you reach the estuary?
When will you merge into the immense ocean?
